Happy Monday, Decadents!
With my new post schedule, it's a rare occassion when I post on Monday. But, I like to break the rules every now and then! This week, I will be showcasing two looks from a lookbook collaboration with a fellow blogger, LaNatria of Caribbean Cowgirl! I could literally go on and on about this amazing woman and mother, but I will save it until the end of the post! I love meeting new bloggers who truly enjoy what they do in our industry! If you are ready to see how we styled our first looks, head over to the next page!
About a week ago, I walked into Goodwill and spotted this t-shirt dress and amazing fringe belt! I felt like these two pieces were waiting for me to grab and style them together, they just work beautifully together! But, I added my old faithful Forever 21 Plus cropped leather jacket to toughen up the look. Interestingly enough, when I was looking for inspiration for this first look, I wanted to evoke the casual side of the 70s. I knew my fro, fringe and black boots were a must. Along the way, I thought of a few tips that you could use when incorporating the 70s trends into your fall wardrobe.
Are you feeling this lippy? It was ColourPop's Limited Edition Lippie Stix in Feminist, but here are some similar shades, here and here.
1. Add Structure to Loose Silhouettes
The 70s was all about accentuating curves and waist lines. Even though I am rocking an oversized t-shirt dress, I knew I needed this fringe belt to take it to the next level. This is also a great example of how you can incoporate fringe into your look, without overthinking it. The small details matter, too!
2. Make a Statement With Accessories
If you've been rocking with me for a while, then you know I live for a bomb accessory! No matter if you are rocking a causal or dressy outfit, the 70s trend requires statement pieces to add that retro feel to your look! Try rocking an oversized hoop earring with a thin chocker necklace.

3. Riding Boots or OTK Boots Are a MUST
This needs no more commentary, the 70s were all about a fierce boot!
4. Play Around With Textures
My thrifted t-shirt dress is gray with touches of white/light gray gradients peppered throughout the piece. Playing around with gradients and textures will help give you a touch of unexpected glam. I love me some plain black & white tops, but sometimes I need to make a subtle statement and this piece fits the bill!
How will you rock the 70s trend this season?
The beautiful thing about collaborating with amazingly stylish bloggers is that we all interpret trends differently! When I first (virtually) met LaNatria on Instagram, I knew that I had to work with her ... I mean how could I not, she is super chic! From her amazing prints to her fun creative looks, LaNatria is a blogger to keep your eyes on. I just know she will blow up on the scene this year! Stay tuned for our final looks this Friday!
